Below you can see my belly has flattened out now. My belly button is bloody cute, its elongated and youthful looking - the man is a legend! I am very happy with this. There is still swelling, especially on the right (my left) side where the open wounds are. Still quite a bit of puckering, but this will go as everything settles down. You can see I'm still a little lop sided - my right side has dropped perfectly now and is settling into place. Look at my waist! adorable huh?

This is my good side. The scars are really healing well, everything is dropping and flattening out. I still need to wear tapes 24/7 for the next 5-6 weeks still to ensure they dont stretch. I feel "safe" while I have my tapes on and very vulnerable when I dont. It's like a little safety blanket for me mentally LOL. I'll be able to start moisturising them and help them fade out to a fine white line - could take a couple of years! Like my front, there is still a bit of puckering which will flatten out over the next six months. Pic after the one below is extremely graphic, you have been warned!
This just makes me cry. If you compare this pic the month before, you can see where the wound has opened up. What started as black dead tissue, manifestered into something a little bit more nasty. However, all is not lost - its a post op complication which can be expected - its not until it actually happens that you realise what the hell it means! It will heal, will just take a little longer and then I wont even know it was there. It's more superficial than it looks. It doesnt hurt - I'm still numb in that area. The wound is currently 2inches long and about 2 inches deep in some parts - this side is still more swollen - my bodies reaction to help heal this bit. You can also just see where its popped out the back too grrrrrrrrrr
Here is where my side wound also manifestered itself in my back. What started off as a little pin prick, grew to a hole the size of a 50c piece and about 1 inch deep. Again - with time and the right wound dressings it will heal. This wound is more of a concern than the front wound believe it or not. It has something to do with "tracking" they are hoping it doesnt follow the suture line to meet up with the front wound - the nurses are measuring the depth weekly to monitor this. I'm still extremely happy with my porn star arse - I think it looks hot and the scarring will fade beautifully once this all heals up.
There we have it ... 7 weeks down the track - the majority of my circumfrential wound is healing as expected, everything is starting to drop and settle into place and I'm extremely happy with the majority of its progress. Unfortunately I was one of the unlucky ones that has to deal with a minor post op complication. As I keep telling myself - if this is the only thing I have to worry about after what I just did to myself ... then I count my blessings!
Roll on the next 6-8 weeks of healing! :)
